The factors set out below are intended to assist organising bodies in assessing their performance and are intended to give consistent guidance for future years' entries. The grading is as follows :-

Permanent Landscape including shrubs Design and quality of plantings and standard of appropriate maintenance	30	The landscape maintenance throughout good with a great support from the grounds team. C. Local Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development In this section innovative new ideas having impact on different areas of the community together with community effort will gain marks	15	Outstanding natural areas in Blakehill Farm,and North Meadow, enhanced by the work of the working party, English nature and the Business association. Fairview fields is a promising project for the future. The recycling projects are excellent with the warrior composts and freshen up your front day. The recycling directory is comprehensive and helpful.	E
D. Local Environmental Quality Absence of litter, dog fouling, graffiti, fly posting and other associated factors	15	The whole area clean and tidy with little evidence of litter, dogs mess, and graffiti. I liked the efforts of the scout group in cleaning the river and the partnership between Hills and the Tidy up Group	E
E. Public Awareness Marketing, publicity and promotion of Britain in Bloom	10	A fine all round effort from everyone, and excellent portfolio, preparation and tour, and CD rom. Good links with many other groups	E

Judges Summary - This was a really good entry, and so pleasing to note the progress made in such a short time by the team, following the recommendations made by the judge in 2003. I liked the strategic plan, and must congratulate the efforts of the pre-school playgroup, and for the future I am sure the school will be on board. Work has started on the entrances and these need to be developed. Excellent portfolio and presentation including CD.
